Carroll Toys for Tots campaign collects 1,050 toys

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office and the United States Marine Corps Reserve collected 1,050 toys through the annual Toys for Tots campaign in Carroll.

The Sheriff's Office announced the results in a news release Monday.

Collection boxes were placed at library branches, library headquarters, the Carroll County office building and the Sheriff's Office during the nearly three-week long drive, which began Nov. 29.

Sheriff's Deputies also held one-day events at Wal-Marts in Eldersburg, Hampstead, and Westminster to collect toys to be given as Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in the community.

In a statement, the Sheriff's Office said it appreciates all of the generous donations and looks forward to partnering with the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Campaign in the future.
