Carroll County’s third annual Restaurant Week starts Sunday, Aug. 18, with 28 restaurants participating countywide.
The event showcases county eateries by offering patrons the opportunity to visit a new restaurant or try an old favorite at an affordable price.
Lunch prices at participating restaurants are as low as $8.13 and dinner offerings are as low as $10.13.
"There's something for everybody's budget," said Peggy Soper, Director of Operations for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, which is one of the event's sponsors.
Soper said the chamber believes the event has generated more business for county restaurants based on feedback from restaurant owners.
"They do see an increase in traffic. How significant it is, I'm not sure," she said. "We just haven't been able to gather that information."
Ken Lurie, owner of Bud's at Silver Run, said he has "absolutely" seen in increase in business from restaurant week.
"This is a good push right at the end of summer that gets people back into the habit of saying 'There are some great restaurants in Carroll County, let's make sure we support them,'" he said.
Bud's also runs its restaurant week specials an additional week, which Lurie said has brought in more customers.
Lurie, along with Dante Liberatore of Liberatore's in Eldersburg, are credited with helping to start a restaurant week in Carroll.
