Artists will be displaying paintings, drawings, collages, photographs, fine prints, sculptures, jewelry, ceramic art and stained glass from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Many of them will also provide live demonstrations of their work.
Sandy Oxx, executive director of the Carroll County Arts Council, said the event typically attracts 2,000 to 3,000 visitors and she expects that to continue this year.
Oxx said visitors can expect to see a few new artists and performers this year, but the arts council is keeping in tradition by only allowing fine arts vendors to display their work.
"We keep it fresh, but we're not trying to rethink it each year," she said.
Entertainment will be provided by a dozen roaming musicians and dancers who will perform on a variety of instruments in diverse styles. There will be free craft activities for children.
The event is located at the intersections of Locust, Longwell and Key streets in downtown Westminster, two blocks northeast of the intersection of MD routes 32 and 27. Festival patrons are encouraged to park for free in the parking garage adjacent to the park.
