Corbit's Charge at Union Mills [Pictures]
On June 29-30, Union Mills Homestead in Westminster hosted this year's commemoration of Corbit's Charge, the Civil War skirmish in Westminster that took place in the days leading up to the Battle of Gettysburg 150 years ago. Part of the weekend events to recall the anniversary was a Sunday concert by the Federal City Brass Band, which performed songs of the Civil War era.

Leader of the Federal City Brass Band, Jari Villanueva of Baltimore, conducts the group during a performanc eat the annual reenactment of Corbit's Charge, a Civil War battle that occurred in Westminster. The group is made up of professional and amateur musicians from around the country who use all original instruments from the Civil War era. This weekend was the 150th anniversary of the event and included living history presentation, artillery and cavalry drills and more at the Union Mills Homestead.
