Manchester's Sarah Bach scores both in McDaniel 2-1 field hockey win

McDaniel College broke a 1-1 deadlock early in the second half and the defense held off Eastern Mennonite for a 2-1 non-conference field hockey victory on Saturday.

Sarah Bach, a freshman from Manchester, scored both goals for the Green Terror, which improved its team record to 6-5. The Manchester Valley High School graduate's second score broke a tie 4:21 into the second half.

Camille Williams tallied the lone goal for the Royals (2-9), tying the game off a Melissa Cox assist at the 15:38 mark.

Bach's first score came off a feed from Allie Miller, of East Berlin, Pa., just 9:54 into the game to stake McDaniel to a 1-0 lead.

Bach then scored off an assist from Haley VanNostrand, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., on a corner in the 40th minute.

The Green Terror finished with a 17-9 advantage in shots and 10-7 edge in penalty corners.
