A public hearing for the long-awaited Finksburg Corridor Plan is scheduled for Monday, beginning at 6 p.m at the Finksburg Library, 2265 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg.
The plan is an update to the 1981 Finksburg Area and Environs Comprehensive Plan and focuses on traffic flow, the environmental resources and growth in the area. The update has been in the works for more than 10 years.
In April, the county's Planning and Zoning Commission accepted a draft of the Finksburg Corridor Plan for 60-day review. This draft includes a proposal to alter land-use designations for property at the northeast corner of routes 140 and 91 from a conservation zone to a zoning category allowing commercial uses.
Residents and business owners may provide testimony in support or in opposition to any aspect of the plan. Comments may be provided in person or written; written comments may be brought to the hearing or mailed to Andrea Gerhard, 225 N. Center Street, Westminster, MD 21157; or sent via email to email@example.com.
