The Maryland State Police Westminster Barrack will conduct a sobriety checkpoint Saturday on Baltimore Boulevard at Bethel Road in Finksburg in conjunction with Checkpoint Strikeforce, a multi-state campaign to combat drunk driving.
State police will be assisted by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Westminster City Police Department, Sykesville Police Department, Taneytown Police Department, Hampstead Police Department, Manchester Police Department and the State Highway Administration, according to a news release from the Maryland State Police.
Troopers, deputies, and officers will be conducting the checkpoint in an effort to educate the public on impaired driving laws and apprehend drivers under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, according to the release.
State police remind all citizens that if you plan on consuming alcoholic beverages, you should also plan on having a designated driver.
