Jacob Halberstam will be charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and theft over $100, according to a Carroll County Sheriff's Office press release.
Police said a call was received a 10:17 a.m. to report a robbery in progress at the Burger King on Brodbeck Road in Hampstead.
Responding deputies were advised that a male with a gun had held up the restuarant and left the location with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene within a minute and were able to capture and take Halberstam into custody after he was seen fleeing the scene, police said.
Further investigation revealed that before the robbery, Halberstam also committed a theft from the Hampstead Walmart, which the store is handling internally, according to police.
