The body of a man was discovered along a wooded area in northern Carroll County early Friday morning, Maryland State Police said.
At around 8 a.m., deputies from the Carroll County Sheriff's office recovered the body near a grain field in Hampstead, police said. The body was close to a gated access road that leads to a cell phone tower not far from Falls Road.
The body was first spotted by members of a crew working on the cell tower, police said.
A search of the area by crime scene technicians did not turn up any weapons. Investigators also did not observe any obvious signs of trauma on the body.
Police are awaiting autopsy results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the victim's identity, and a cause and manner of death.
