Police search for man suspected in Eldersburg armed robbery

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office continues to search for a man suspected of robbing two people in the parking lot of the Panera Bread in Eldersburg Saturday.

According to police, two people were sitting in their car about 8:50 p.m. Saturday when they say they were approached by a black male, wearing dark clothing who was approximately 5 feet 11 with a stocky build.

The two people said the man showed them a handgun and demanded valuables, police said.

After a brief encounter, they told police the man took off on foot and was last seen running behind the shopping center, according to police.

Police canvassed the area, but did not locate the suspect. No injuries were reported, police said.
