The Eldersburg-based JoeyDCares Rock Orchestra has announced three upcoming performances for charity this holiday season.
The orchestra, formed in 2010, is a band comprised of sixth-through-12th-grade students who perform charitable concerts throughout the area. Instrumentalists range from violins to tubas to electric guitars and saxophones.
The first of three shows is Nov. 29 at 8 p.m. at the Kennedy Krieger Festival of Trees at the Maryland State Fairgrounds.Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children and seniors the day of the event, but are $11 for adults and $6 for children and seniors if purchased online.
The event supports the children of the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
The second show is Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Carroll Hospital Center's A Season to Remember event supporting Carroll Hospice.
Finally, the band will perform Dec. 21 at 4:30 p.m. at the Baltimore Inner Harbor during Christmas Village in Baltimore's Charity Weekend.
At these events, the orchestra will be playing their variety of rock, pop, Motown and jazz favorites, while also playing festive rock and jazz Christmas music.
