The Maryland Association for Bank Security is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the people responsible for the Thursday morning robbery of an Eldersburg Bank of America.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Office announced the award for information Friday in a news release.

Police said the suspect is a black male in his 30s, approximately 6 feet 4 and weighing about 220 to 250 pounds.

At about 9:20 a.m. Thursday, the masked suspect entered the bank wearing a black Orioles baseball cap, white T-shirt, gray sweatshirt, bluejeans and black shoes. He brandished a handgun and demanded money, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The suspect was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun, police said.

No one was injured during the robbery and the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 410-386-9500 or call the anonymous tips hotline at 1-888-399-8477.
