Liberty High School graduate Shane McCracken, of Marriottsville, scored for McDaniel College on Saturday, but the Green Terror fell short, 2-1, in the men’s soccer matchup against Haverford (Pa.) College.
A first-half Haverford goal proved to be the difference in the Haverford victory over McDaniel in Centennial Conference action.
Sam Yarosh staked the Fords to a 1-0 halftime lead, and Ford Bohrmann gathered a rebound off a blocked shot and fired the ball into the right corner for a 2-0 advantage in the 57th minute.
McCracken – a jjunior who leads the Green Terror team with nine scores – nailed a shot from 30 yards out at the 63:25 mark to make it 2-1.
Haverford finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots.
