State Fire Marshal investigating Westminster fire

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire from Sunday afternoon.

The incident, which occurred in a townhome in the 400 block of Hobbitts Lane in Westminster, was called in around 2:43 p.m. Sunday, July 8, according to the notice of investigation.

The fire occurred in the middle of the row of townhouses. No one was injured, according to the notice.

The blaze caused an estimated $15,000 in structure loss, according to the notice.

It took approximately 20 firefighters about five minutes to put the fire out, according to the notice. The Westminster volunteer fire company was the primary responding agency.

The fire began in the rear exterior of the building, and was discovered by a neighbor. The cause remains under investigation.
