A primary road carrying motorists between Baltimore and Carroll counties will be closed overnight beginning July 14, according to the State Highway Administration.
Work on the bridge carrying MD 140 over the Liberty Reservoir will close the road for traffic between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning Monday, July 14. Work should be complete after three nights of work, weather pending, according to SHA.
The closures will allow for steel to be set on the bridge, enabling SHA to rehabilitate the bridge, replace the deck and widen shoulders.
Motorists might also encounter occasional two-way traffic stoppages of no more than 15 minutes, SHA said in a statement.
The project, paid for by a combination of state and federal funds, will cost approximately $7.3 million and should be completed by spring 2015, according to the SHA website.
