One of the joys of the beach is its consistency. The tide rises and falls without fail, the sun casts a glow over the water every morning and every night. But Ocean City, for all its constants, continually delivers fresh adventures. We've put together a calendar of something fun to do in Ocean City nearly every day, from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Many, but not all, are free, and most are suitable for the entire family.

MAY

May 23: Check out the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. From May 21 through June 22, as a thank-you for their service, admission is free for police, firefighters, EMTs, active duty service members, veterans, and members of the Armed Forces. Info: 410-289-4991, ocmuseum.org

May 24: Sample the corned beef sandwiches, matzo ball soup and noodle kugel at Rosenfeld's Jewish Deli, which is scheduled to open May 17 at 6301 Coastal Highway. The full-service restaurant, said to be the only Jewish daily within a two-hour drive, serves breakfast all day and lunch and dinner starting at 11 a.m. Info: http://rosenfeldsjewishdeli.com

May 25: OC Beachlights, an 8-minute laser light show that fills the sky with special effects and music, can be heard along the boardwalk on Sunday nights. A special patriotic show kicks off the summer season on May 25. Shows start every half hour, from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Free. Info: http://ococean.com/events/oc-beachlights

May 26: Visit the Spring Arts and Crafts Show. A free event, with vendors selling a wide range of items, including candles, jewelry and fudge. The fair takes place May 25-26 at the Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway. May 29: Golf for a cause. The second annual Ocean City Walmart Children's Miracle Network Golf Tournament, hosted by the Ocean City/Berlin Walmart and held at the Bay Club Golf Course in Berlin (9122 Libertytown Road, thebayclub.com), benefits the Children's Miracle Network and the Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital. The $100 entrance fee includes lunch, door prizes and awards. Tee-off is 9 a.m. Info: oceancity.org

May 30-June 1: The annual convention and parade of the Council of Baltimore Ravens Roosts, a group of more than 50 Ravens fan clubs in the Mid-Atlantic region, with a Super Bowl win to celebrate this year. On May 30, join council members for the Social at the Castle In the Sand, with a catered cookout, a scavenger hunt, karaoke, miniature golf and bingo. On June 1, the two-hour parade, with Ravens players and cheerleaders, bands, floats and mascots, will begin at 10 a.m. and run along Baltimore Avenue, from 19th Street to 26th Street. That afternoon, the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel hosts the annual Ravens Beach Bash, from noon to 5 p.m. Free. Info: councilrr.com

JUNE

June 2: Check out the progress – and possible completion – of repairs to the Ocean City Pier, which was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy last year. The pier is scheduled to reopen to the public by Memorial Day weekend. Info: oceancitymd.gov

June 3: The Flamingo Motel is celebrating its 50th anniversary with discounts and deals, including 20 percent off four-night stays June through August. The hotel, at 3100 Baltimore Ave., is just 100 feet from the beach. Rates include free HBO and wireless internet. Info: theflamingomotel.com

June 4: Members of the Class of 2013 will celebrate Senior Week this month in Ocean City. Graduating seniors can attend free activities organized by Play It Safe Ocean City, which provides alcohol- and drug-free events, including miniature golf, laser tag, dodgeball and more. June 5: Enjoy the first night of free Movies on the Beach. The movies are shown Wednesday evenings, through Aug. 28, at 8:30 p.m. at the Carousel Resort Hotel, 118th Street Oceanfront. Rain or shine. Info: ococean.com

June 6: If you're in the mood to try a new brew, the 45th Street Taphouse Bar and Grill has 36 craft beers on tap, plus a hearty menu of burgers, chili, wings, prime rib, seafood and more. Info: 45taphouse.com

June 7: So you think you can catch a shark? The 17th annual Mako Mania shark tournament will be held through June 9 at the Bahia Marina, between 21st Street and 22nd Street. Even people who don't compete enjoy watching the sharks being weighed. Info: bahiamarina.com

June 8: The OC Air Show features team parachute jumps and formation flights — just a few of the awe-inspiring attractions to see at this popular annual event. The show is free and visible along the length of the Boardwalk, but VIP seating is also available. Info: ocairshow.com

June 9: All things automotive, including classic vehicles and trick trucks, make the OC Car and Truck Show one of the largest car shows on the East Coast. Expect special guest appearances, live entertainment, interactive displays and vendors selling all kinds of stuff for cars and trucks. The show, held at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, runs 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on June 8 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 9. Info: http://www.occarshow.com

June 10: It wouldn't be summer in Ocean City without a visit to the famous Trimper's Rides at the end of the boardwalk. Summer hours, which start June 7, mean inside rides open at 1 p.m., outside rides at 3 p.m. On weekends, it all starts at noon. Info: trimpersrides.com

June 11: See the Brown Box Theatre Project interpret the final scene of Chekhov's The Seagull in 43 ways during performances through June 8-11 at the Ocean City Center for the Arts. Info and tickets: brownboxtheatre.org

June 12: Get your adrenaline pumping on the 10-passenger OC Screamer jetboat operated by Odyssea Watersports. The 30-minute ride includes fishtails, spins and quick stops. Prepare to get soaked. Info: odysseawatersports.com

June 13: Arts on the Dock begins and runs through Aug. 29. Check out the work of local artists every Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ocean City Fishing Center Marina, 12940 Inlet Isle Lane. Info: ocfishing.com

June 14: See the wild ponies and enjoy the beautiful beach at the Assateague Island National Seashore. The world-famous wild pony swim, scheduled this year for July 24, attracts some 40,000 visitors, and some say the best time to visit the park is any day but that one. Info: assateagueisland.com

June 15: Art's Alive offers its annual Fine Art Show at Northside Park, June 15-16, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with more than 100 artists displaying and selling their works. There's also live music, food and art activities for kids. Free. Info: ococean.com/events/arts-alive

June 16: Maryland State Firemen's Association comes to Ocean City for its annual conference, June 16-19. A three-hour parade with fire-fighting equipment, bands and floats will begin at 1 p.m. on June 19 and travel along Baltimore Avenue from 15th Street to 32nd Street. Info: msfa.org

June 17: After a hot day at the beach, cool off on the sprawling waterside deck of the new de Lazy Lizard, a bar and grill that opened this spring at 1st Street and the Bay. Info: oclazylizard.com

June 20: Skateboarders and BMX bikers will perform dizzying feats of athleticism during the Dew Tour, returning to Ocean City for a third year and bringing plenty of entertainment, including free concerts. The action continues through June 23. Info: dewtouroc.com

June 22: Hear Dave Ehlert channel Hank Williams and other country music icons during the performance of Hank Williams and The Superstars Of Country Music at the OC Jamboree, an arts and music theater in West Ocean City. Info: ocjam.com

June 23: Check out the cool vehicles displayed by The O.C. Cruzers along Somerset Street, near the boardwalk. The owners will be on hand to chat about their vintage vehicles, and there will be live music. Dates are June 9, June 23, July 7, July 21, Aug. 4, Aug. 18 and Sept. 8. Info: occruzers.com

June 24: Every Monday and Friday, June 24 through Aug. 9, the Carousel Resort Hotel shows a movie on the beach at 27th Street. Bring a blanket and popcorn for the free, family-appropriate film, which starts around 8:30 p.m. Info: http://oceancitymd.gov/recreation_and_parks/free-movies.html.

June 25: Family Beach Olympics, held Tuesdays through Aug. 6 on the beach at 27th Street, feature a variety of contests for all ages. Events may include sand castle contests, tug-of-war, relays and more. Prizes offered for winners of some of the activities have included sand toys, t-shirts and gift certificates for pizza, mini-golf and ice cream. Info: ococean.com

June 28-29: Sample micro-brewed beers and wines from Mid-Atlantic vineyards while listening to live music and enjoying delicious food at Wine in the Park, at Northside Park, 125th Street, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days. The $22 admission include a wine glass and samples. Info: winefest.com

June 29: Hear "Coming to America" and Neil Diamond's other earworm-inducing hits performed by the tribute band Denny Diamond And The Family Jewels, at the OC Jamboree. Info: ocjam.com

June 30: Enjoy live music while bargain-hunting at the Queenstown Premium Outlets. The summer concert series, sponsored by Coca-Cola, provides live music from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting. Concerts are scheduled for May 27, June 30, July 7, July 13 and Aug. 13. Info: premiumoutlets.com

JULY

July 1: Daily programs begin at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum. The programs are about a half-hour, starting at 10 every morning, except Sundays, through Aug. 24 as long as the weather is permitting. Info: ococean.com

July 3: Heritage Arts for Kids at the Julia A. Purnell Museum in Snow Hill provides hands-on craft projects for kids on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., July 3 through Aug. 14. Info: purnellmuseum.com

July 4: The Ocean City Department of Recreation and Parks puts on a great show for the Fourth of July, starting with a free concert at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Info: oceancitymd.gov

July 5: Watch the graduation of the Ocean City Beach Patrol, between the pier and the inlet jetty, an event that includes skill demonstrations and training exercises. Info: oceancitymd.gov/recreation

July 8: Fireworks on the beach begin at 10 p.m., last about 8 minutes, and are visible all along the boardwalk. Mondays and Tuesdays through Aug. 27. Info: ococean.com

July 10: The first free Concert on the Beach of the summer is Sir Rod, a tribute to Rod Stewart. The concerts are held Wednesdays through Aug. 28 (except July 31), from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the North Division Street Beach. July 11: The start of the Sunset Park Party Nights series, held on Thursday nights through Aug. 29. Sunset Park is located along the west side of Philadelphia Avenue near the Inlet. July 12: Weigh-ins for the 26th annual Ocean City Tuna Tournament begin at 4 p.m. and can be pretty exciting, with cash payouts of $500,000 or more for the July 12-14 event. Info: ocfishing.com

July 13: The St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Ocean City is bringing the flavors, sounds and sights of Greece to the Ronald E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, with its 23rd annual Greek Festival, July 12-14. Shop for Greek clothing and jewelry, eat Greek food, listen to Greek music. July 14: The first Sundaes in the Park of the season. Bring your picnic basket and beach chairs to Northside Park at 127th Street and the Bay, and for a small fee, make ice cream sundaes and enjoy live entertainment. Sundays in July and August, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. On July 14, the Key West Band provides a Jimmy Buffet tribute, and Mike Rose puts on a magic show. Info: oceancitymd.gov

July 15: Original Fish and Chips, Inc., the English-style fried fish shop in Middle River, is set to open a second location in Ocean City, at 6701 Coastal Highway. While the deep-fried cod fillets are a main attraction, the expansive menu also boasts fried shrimp, chicken sandwiches, crab cakes, chicken wings and wraps. Info: tryourfish.com

July 17: Enjoy country music from The Stickers at a free concert on the beach hosted by Ocean City's Department of Recreation and Parks. July 29: The Ronald E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway, hosts the Jesus at the Beach Music & Ministry Festival 2013 with Christian music, dance, prayer and ministry. AUGUST

Aug. 1: Hear Jean Shepherd, the "Grand Lady of the Grand Old Opry" for one show only, at 2 p.m. at the OC Jamboree. Info: ocjam.com

Aug. 2: The International Artist Group show kicks off at the Ocean City Center for the Arts with a reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Art League of Ocean City, founded in 1963, moved to its new 7,500-square-foot home on March 1. Info: artleagueofoceancity.org

Aug. 3: The Blessing of the Combines is an annual celebration of rural life that happens to include a car show and live entertainment. 10:45 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Snow Hill. Info: visitmaryland.org

Aug. 14: The beach gets funky when the Clones of Funk bring their funkadelic sounds to the free Wednesday-night concert series.
