The Navy has announced an Emergency Family Support Task Force to help victims, workers and families in the aftermath of the Washington Navy Yard shootings.
Critical incident stress management or counseling services are available at 800-222-0364, officials said Monday.
A team of chaplains at the Washington Navy Yard already was assisting those most immediately affected by the incident, officials said, and chaplains at nearby Joint Base Anacosita-Bolling was helping family members.
In addition, chaplains from the Chief of Navy Chaplains' office has been assigned to Nationals Stadium, where a larger family reunion area was established for Navy Yard personnel.
Teams of chaplains throughout the region are standing by to provide further assistance, as needed, over the next several days, officials said.

The Emergency Family Support Task Force is being led by Vice Adm. William French, Commander of the Navy's Installation Command.
Authorities were escorting Navy Yard personnel to Parking Lot B at Nationals Stadium. With many workers forced to leave personal belongings on the installation, officials were distributing Metro cards free to all Navy Yard personnel.
