All northbound traffic on the Baltimore Washington Parkway has been reopened at Waterview Avenue with the clearing of utility work that shut down the roadway for more than five hours.
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation reported the roadway opened at 10:34 a.m. At 5:37 a.m., the state Department of Transportation reported that the parkway was shut down at Interstate 95.
Around 6 a.m., traffic in the right lane of the parkway detoured off Waterview Avenue, with many motorists reversing direction for the BW Parkway South and onto points east and west.
But at 7:03 a.m. the Baltimore City Department of Transportation reported that the parkway was closed at Waterview Avenue due to emergency roadwork. The state DOT reported the closure at Monroe Street around 7:15 a.m.
