The Friday morning commute was marked with several incidents as the region grappled with the second bout of overnight wintry weather in as many days.
A single-vehicle crash in Lochearn on the inner loop of Interstate 695 at the Northwest Expressway exit has closed the inner loop right traffic lane and inner loop right shoulder at 8:45 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.
A single-vehicle crash in Elkridge on I-95 South at I-895 has closed the southbound right traffic lane and southbound right shoulder at 8:34 a.m., DOT said.
In South Gate, a single-vehicle crash on I-97 South at MD 100 has closed the northbound right off-ramp lane at 7:13 a.m., according to DOT.
A two-vehicle collision in Parkville on I-95 North prior to the Baltimore Beltway exit has closed the northbound right shoulder at 8:23 a.m., DOT said.
All southbound lanes and closed and all but one northbound lane is closed on MD 170 at BWI Airport due to a single-vehicle crash at Terminal Road for nearly six hours after DOT first reported the incident at 3:22 a.m.
The Maryland Transit Administration said that Amtrak Train 151 has been canceled for Friday. MTA added that a disabled CSX train is blocking the southbound platform at MARC Savage Station. All southbound MARC trains will load passengers from the opposite track, MTA said.
MTA said that MARC train service will operate on an "S" schedule on the Brunswick and Penn Lines on Friday. Brunswick Line Train 880 (7:45 a.m. Brunswick departure) will hold in Brunswick 40 minutes and depart at 8:25 a.m., MTA said.
Penn Line Train 425 (9:25 Penn Station departure) will operate with additional rail cars to accommodate the federal government two-hour delay, MTA said.
MTA reported more than two dozen changes to local bus schedules due to wintry conditions on Friday. Overall, MTA reported minor local bus, light rail, MARC train and mobility vehicle delays at 9:13 a.m.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
