Three local roads, including two in Harford County, have been shut down in both directions as motorists tackle a Wednesday morning commute hampered by a wintry mix.
The state Department of Transportation said debris on MD 165 has closed the roadway in both directions at Rocks Road at 8:52 a.m.
DOT also reported that debris on MD 165 in Harford County has closed the roadway at Wheeler School Road at 8:22 a.m.
DOT said that debris on MD 23 in Harford County is closed at Mile Marker 38 at 8:25 a.m.
And all lanes are closed on U.S. 1 North in Elkridge due to a three-vehicle collision at Kit Kat Road at 7:04 a.m. on Wednesday, according to DOT. The center turn lanes are bidirectional, DOT said.
Also, debris on northbound MD 146 in Baltimore County, just north of Old Bosley Road, has closed he northbound right traffic lane and northbound right shoulder at 8:38 a.m., DOT said.
Debris on MD 26 West in Lochearn at the Baltimore Beltway has closed the westbound right off-ramp lane at 8:54 a.m., DOT said.
And emergency road work in Baltimore County on MD 45 South at Timonium Road that began on Tuesday morning continued through Wednesday morning, DOT said.
Some of the most significant travel disruptions were experienced on mass transit.
The Maryland Transit Administration said at 8:57 a.m. that all MARC Brunswick line service, which had been earlier suspended due to downed trees across the track, has been reopened.
MTA added that Frederick County Transit officials reported all Meet the MARC shuttle service has been canceled this morning.
And MTA said at 8:29 a.m. that the MARC-Amtrak train 181 (8:35 Aberdeen departure) is operating one hour late.
Overall, the transit administration reported major delays on the light rail and MARC train as well as minor delays on mobility vehicles and local buses at 8:45 a.m.
