An accident with injury reported in Anne Arundel County on MD 175 West at the Baltimore Washington Parkway has closed the westbound shoulder at 8:32 a.m. Monday, according to the state Department of Transportation.
In other incidents, all lanes have been reopened on Route 198 West in Laurel after a fatal accident shut down all westbound traffic for more than an hour, according to DOT and Prince George's County officials.
DOT reported a two-vehicle collision at 7:04 a.m. About 7:22 a.m. Prince George's Fire and EMS officials said that the fatality involved a motorcycle on Route 198 and Sweitzer Lane in Laurel, adding that the accident was being cleared. At 7:50 a.m. DOT reported that the left southbound traffic lane and left southbound shoulder had reopened. DOT reported the accident cleared at 8:22 a.m.
The Maryland Transit Administration reported minor MARC train delays at 8:48 a.m.
And Baltimore City officials said that roadwork on the Jones Falls Expressway will begin on Monday and prompt overnight lane closures for the next 10 months.
Workers will replace aging rubber bridge joints and damaged concrete barriers and will close lanes intermittently along large stretches of the highway, officials said.
Joint-repair work on the JFX, between 41st and East Fayette streets, will begin on the southbound side and will close two lanes each weeknight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., officials said.
