All lanes are open on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway prior to MD 197 between Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties after a Thursday morning southbound accident involving a rolled car shut down southbound traffic for more than two hours.

State Highway Administration spokeswoman Lora Rakowski said lanes opened at 8:04 a.m.

The accident occurred about 5:50 a.m. on Thursday, and one passenger in the vehicle was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Paul Brooks, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police.

Southbound traffic had been diverted onto Route 198, Park Police said.

In another area accident, debris on Interstate 97 South at the MD 100 exit has closed all three southbound traffic lanes and one of two southbound shoulders at 8:20 a.m., according to the state Department of Transportation. Two exit ramps remain open, DOT said.

And in Baltimore County, a collision on I-95 South past the MD 43 (White Marsh Boulevard) exit has closed one of two southbound shoulders at 8:31 a.m., DOT said.

The Maryland Transit Administration reported at 9 a.m. that buses and trains are running on schedule.
