A pair of five-vehicle collisions on local interstates prompted lane closures toward the end of Tuesday morning's rainy rush hour, according to the state Department of Transportation.
One of the wrecks occurred around the start of the morning commute: A five-vehicle collision on I-95 past the Baltimore Washington Parkway exit closed two of four southbound traffic lanes, one of two southbound traffic shoulders, one of four northbound traffic lanes and one of two northbound traffic shoulders at 6:30 a.m., DOT said.
Also, a five-vehicle incident in Baltimore County on I-83 South at the MD 45 York Road exit closed one of two southbound traffic lanes and one of two southbound traffic shoulders at 8:12 a.m., DOT said.
The Maryland Transit Administration reported all buses and trains running on schedule at 9:12 a.m.
