Baltimore police release video of fatal stabbing on Pulaski Highway

Police release surveillance footage of brutal knife attack on 73-year-old man Friday on Pulaski Highway.

Police released surveillance footage of the brutal knife attack on a 73-year-old man Friday in Southeast Baltimore.

The man was stabbed in the abdomen on Pulaski Highway at about 4 p.m., police said, and died later Friday at an area hospital. Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect.

The 84-second video, posted on Youtube Saturday, begins with a man in a hooded jacket approaching the victim on a sidewalk as traffic passes. The victim holds a cane in one hand and a shopping bag in the other.

The victim turns from the suspect and begins to walk up the sidewalk. The suspect follows behind the victim, grabs him by the sides and throws him to the ground.

The suspect appears to reach into a pocket and pull out an object. He then punches or stabs the victim at least three times. The victim attempts to fight him off.

The video also includes still images of the suspect and footage of him running across a parking lot and walking down a sidewalk.

Police said Friday they believed the victim was involved in an argument when the stabbing occured. They have not released his name.

Homicide detectives asked anyone with information to contact Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7Lockup.
