Police say Southern High principal found

Anne Arundel County police said Wednesday evening they had located a high school principal who was sought after relatives expressed concern he hadn't been seen since early Tuesday.

Police said in a statement that Marc Procaccini, a Millersville resident and principal at Southern High School in Harwood, had been located and was safe.

Police had sought to contact Procaccini, 39, after a relative told officials they hadn't seen nor heard from him since 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Anne Arundel County Public Schools School spokesman Bob Mosier had confirmed that Procaccini requested and been granted leave from Southern High, but did not give specifics. Mosier said assistant principal Mike May had been placed in charge of the school in Procaccini's absence.

After contacting Procaccini, police said they would respect his privacy and "no further information related to this matter will be provided."
