A 52-year-old pedestrian was struck Sunday evening at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Grand View Avenue in Anne Arundel County, according to a statement from the county's police department. The county fire department was called to the scene at 7:19 p.m and transported the woman to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, according to Lt. Keith Hamilton.
On Monday, the Anne Arundel County police department identified the injured pedestrian as Claudine Anne Marie Hemingway, of the 1400 block of Grimm Road in Severn. As of 10:30 a.m., Hemingway is in the shock trauma center in serious but stable condition, according to information officer Cindy Rivers. The driver and passenger of the 2004 Dodge Neon that hit the pedestrian were not injured, and an investigation is ongoing, according to the police statement.
