Street closures and times for the 2012 Baltimore Running Festival

Streets throughout Baltimore will be closed temporarily Saturday for the 2012 Under Armour Baltimore Running Festival, which includes a 26-mile marathon, a half-marathon and a 5K race.

According to the organizers, here is a list of street closures and approximate times. Organizers say that final decisions about when to open and close streets will be made by police officers at various intersections. They say there also may be "rolling stops," which means an officer may allow vehicles to proceed when there is a gap between runners.

Street closures for the 2012 Baltimore Marathon:

Intersection of Russell Street and Camden Street – closed at 6 a.m. for setup; opens 9 a.m.

Paca Street from Camden Street to McCulloh Street - closed from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

McCulloh Street from Paca Street to Greenspring – closed from 7:10 a.m. to 8:50 a.m.

Greenspring to Beechwood to Mansion House to Hanlon to East to Wyman Park Drive (all in and around Druid Hill Park) – closed from 7:15 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Wyman Park Drive from Druid Hill Park to Art Museum Drive – closed from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Art Museum Drive from Druid Hill Park to 28th Street – closed from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

28th Street from Howard Street to St. Paul Street – closed from 7:35 a.m. to 10:05 a.m.

St. Paul Street/Light Street from 28th Street to Key Highway – closed from 7:45 a.m. to 10:35 a.m.

Key Highway from Light Street to Key Highway Extension up to Under Armour Headquarters on Hull Street – closed from 8:15 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.

Warren Avenue between Light Street and Battery Avenue – closed from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Battery Avenue between Warren Avenue and Key Highway – closed 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Key Highway from Key Highway Extension to Light Street – closed from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Light Street from Key Highway to Pratt Street, President Street from Pratt Street to Lancaster Street – closed from 8:05 a.m. to noon

Lancaster Street and Aliceanna Street from President Street to Boston Street – closed from 8:10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Boston Street from Aliceanna Street to O'Donnell Street, Linwood Avenue from O'Donnell Street to Madison Street – closed from 8:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Madison Street from Linwood Avenue to Washington Street – closed from 8:20 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.

Madison Street from Linwood Avenue to Washington Street, Washington Street from Madison Street to Harford Road via St. Lo Drive – closed from 8:25 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Harford Road from St. Lo Drive to Pelham Avenue and the loop road around Lake Montebello – closed from 8:35 a.m. to 1:35 p.m.

33rd Street from Lake Montebello to Guilford Avenue. – closed from 8:40 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Guilford Avenue from 33rd Street to 28th Street, 28th Street from Guilford Avenue to Howard Street – closed from 8:50 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Howard Street/Eutaw Street from 28th Street to Pratt Street – closed from 8:55 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Intersection of Eutaw and Pratt streets – closed from 9:05 to 3:20 p.m.

Street closures for 2012 Half-Marathon:

Intersection of Light Street and Conway Street – closed at 7:30 a.m. for set-up until 10:30 a.m.

Light Street/Calvert Street from Conway Street to Fayette Street – closed from 8:45 a.m. to 9:55 a.m.

Fayette Street from Calvert Street to Broadway – closed from 8:55 a.m. to 10:05 a.m.

Broadway From Fayette Street to President Street – closed from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Pratt Street from Broadway to Patterson Park Avenue, Patterson Park Avenue from Pratt Street to Eastern Avenue, Eastern Avenue from Patterson Park Avenue to Linwood Avenue – closed from 9:05 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

From this point on, at the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Linwood Avenue, the half-marathon course dovetails with the full marathon course and has the same closing and opening times.

Street closures for 2012 5K:

The entire course is closed from 8:00 a.m. to 9:15 a.m.

The 5K starts near the intersection of Paca Street and Camden Street. Runners go from that intersection up Paca Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, along McCulloh Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Preston Street, along Preston Street from McCulloh Street to Howard Street and then back along Preston Street to Eutaw Street, along Eutaw Street from McCulloh Street to the finish line south of Pratt Street near Camden Yards. The route crosses Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and portions of it will be closed to allow runners to cross.
