A series of chain-reaction collisions Sunday morning shut down southbound lanes of Interstate 83 in Baltimore between Northern Parkway and Cold Spring Lane, Baltimore police said.
Police said the first incident was a 10-car chain-reaction collision that happened shortly before 8 a.m. Moments later, they added, a single-vehicle crash and then a five-vehicle pileup occurred in the same area.
No serious injuries were reported and no one was hospitalized, police said. The causes of the crashes were not immediately known, police said.
Police said they were restricting access to the highway in the areas of Cold Spring Lane and Northern Parkway until all the vehicles could be removed.
