Howard County officials credit smoke alarms with saving lives in Elkridge house fire

Howard County Fire & Rescue Services officials are investigating a morning house fire in Elkridge.

The blaze occurred at a house in the 6600 block of Washington Boulevard. No injuries were reported and all residents of the home evacuated themselves, fire officials said.

On Twitter, county fire officials credited smoke alarms for saving the residents.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
