Ex-Parkville church youth group leader gets 5 years for child porn

A former church youth group leader from Baltimore County was sentenced this week to five years in federal prison for child pornography.

Gregory Wayne Gibson, 63, will also be placed on 20 years of supervised release following prison and must register as a sex offender.

Gibson, who lived in Cockeysville, spent several years as a youth leader at the Chinese Christian Church of Baltimore. He pleaded guilty in July to distribution of child pornography.

Baltimore County Police arrested him in April. Authorities say Gibson's computer equipment contained more than 260,000 images and videos, most of which depicted minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
