Woman killed in collision in College Park Sunday

An 18-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning near the University of Maryland, College Park campus after she was struck by an SUV while walking across the street, Prince George’s County Police said.

Police were dispatched to the intersection of Baltimore Avenue and Campus Drive at around 6:20 a.m. for the accident, where they found Maria Fisher of Lancaster, Pa., in critical condition, police said. Fisher was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver, who remained at the scene, was not hurt, police said.

Police are investigating the crash.
