Police release sketch of suspect in attempted sex assault near JHU

Police have released a composite sketch of the suspect in an attempted sexual assault Thursday north of the Johns Hopkins University campus.

About 6:30 p.m. a woman was sitting with a friend in the 3500 block of University Parkway when a man approached them, attempted to start a conversation and then exposed himself and threatened them, police said. While the woman was trying to leave the area, the man tackled her and attempted to sexually assault her. She escaped without injury.

The suspect — described as a black man in his early 20s, who stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 140 pounds — was last seen wearing dark clothing walking east toward Guilford Avenue, police said.

Anyone with information about this case should call 911 or the Baltimore Police's Northern District office at 410-396-2455.
