Anne Arundel police seize suspected drugs, $10K cash

Anne Arundel County Police say a call to a hotel in the Linthicum Heights area on Monday resulted in the seizure of more than 120 grams of suspected cocaine and other drugs and more than $10,000 cash.

The call also resulted in one arrest on drug possession charges, and a warrant issued for a Baltimore man on similar charges.

Police said on Monday just after 11:30 a.m., officers went to Sleep Inn in the 6000 block of Belle Grove Road for a report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle. Officers said a woman claimed her boyfriend had taken her rental car and wouldn't give it back.

Police said they found a man inside the Ford van with a woman, and as they approached the van, they smelled a "strong odor of burnt marijuana." Both were asked to step outside the vehicle, and the man fled on foot.

Police then searched the vehicle and found 121.2 grams of suspected cocaine; 56 green plastic bags containing 11.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine; 44 gel capsules of suspected heroin, about 10.7 grams; a scale with white residue, suspected to be cocaine; and $10,360 in cash.

Police estimated that the total street value of suspected CDS would be about $12,479.

Police arrested Marquile Young, 31, of East Jeffery St., Baltimore, on three counts of possession of controlled dangerous substances, and also three counts of possession with intent to distribute.

But they said they are still looking for the man who fled — they've issued an arrest warrant for Reginald Woodson, 32, of Liberty Heights Avenue, also Baltimore City.
