The U.S. Mint will end sales of coins commemorating the 200th anniversary of the writing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" later this month.
The Mint began selling the coins in March. They depict the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812 that was the basis for the words of the national anthem. The coins will be available until Dec. 17.
The Mint produced 100,000 gold coins and 500,000 silver coins as part of Maryland's commemoration of the anniversary.
Proceeds from the coin benefit the Maryland War of 1812 Bicentennial Commission.
