Police: 'Suspicious' man asks to talk to child in Odenton

Anne Arundel County police said a "suspicious" man stopped his vehicle in front of an Odenton home Wednesday evening and called the 6-year-old girl who was outside to come over to speak with him, police said.

A man told police shortly before 9 p.m. that his daughter said that while she was in front of their home in the 1200 block of Odenton Road, a white, four-door vehicle with tinted windows stopped and a man got out and stood in the street, then returned to his vehicle and left, police said.

The vehicle came back, and the man, described as thin, with hair in dreadlocks with orange rubber bands, did not get out of the vehicle but asked the child to come to him. The girl returned to her house and the vehicle left, police said.

The man had not tried to touch the child nor were any obscene remarks made to her, police said.

Police were unable to find the man and did not have any vehicle tag information.
