Teen killed in Anne Arundel motorcycle crash

A teenager died after crashing his motorcycle in southern Anne Arundel County Saturday evening, police said.

Tyler Ralph Davis, 19, crashed his 2003 Kawasaki sport bike around 7 p.m. near the intersection of Southern Maryland Boulevard and Lower Pindell Road in Lothian, Anne Arundel County Police said.

Davis, of the 12600 block of Southern Maryland Boulevard in Dunkirk, was found near the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said it appeared that Davis drove off the left shoulder of the road and into the median. The bike fell to the side and slid nearly 250 feet in the grass before stopping, police said.

Police continue to investigate the accident, but said they believe that driver error and excessive speed could have contributed to the crash.
