A man was found dead in a park-and-ride lot off Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis Wednesday, State Police said.
An autopsy revealed the man's identity as Kevin P. Johnson, 37, of Chester, who was was reported missing on July 4 by family members he was visiting in Southern Maryland.
An exact time, date and cause of death was not established, though forensic pathologists told police the man may have sustained a self-inflicted wound.
A trooper from the Glen Burnie Barrack was called to the parking lot around 4 p.m., where the body was found in a black Saturn Vue in the far corner of the lot, police said. The car was registered to Johnson, police said.
Police had issued lookouts for Johnson after his sister called July 4 to say Johnson left her father's home in Leonardtown sometime in the early morning of July 3. Before Thursday, no information on his whereabouts had developed since the investigation began.
Police will continue to investigate the case.
