Police investigate death of dog in Anne Arundel

Anne Arundel County police are looking for information in the death of a dog in the Deale area of the county.

Police said on Friday, officers went to the 6000 block of Allwine Avenue at about 11 a.m. after a call about possible animal abuse.

The owners of a 3-year-old beagle/Boston terrier mix named Marley said they had let the dog out around 9 a.m., but the dog never returned, police said. A short time later, the owner went to look for the dog and discovered Marley dead, about 20 yards into a wooded area behind the house, with a wound near its shoulder area from unknown causes, police said.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood and collected evidence, and are investigating. Anyone with information may contact police at 410-222-1960.
