Construction worker struck by car in Towson dies from injuries

A Bladensburg man who was hit by a car while working on traffic calming measures in Rodgers Forge March 21 died of his injuries on Sunday, according to Baltimore County Police.

Police said Olegario Morales-Reyes, 21, was directing traffic while a crew from Olney Masonry Corporation worked on traffic calming measures in the Towson neighborhood when he was hit.

According to police, Morales-Reyes was wearing a hard hat and reflective vest while standing on the south side of Stevenson Lane near Stanmore Road, and was holding a stop sign toward oncoming traffic. The driver of a 2013 Honda CRV did not stop and hit Morales-Reyes, police said.

The driver remained at the scene, and Morales-Reyes was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died on March 30.

Police did not say whether charges have been filed against the driver.
