Daytime burglar steals silver, coins from Wiltondale home

Baltimore County Police are investigating a daytime home burglary on Monday afternoon in which a man reportedly entered a Wiltondale home and stole coins and a sterling silver china set.

Police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said a witness who was working in the area saw a man leaving a home in the 700 block of Stevenson Lane on Oct. 22, carrying unidentified items.

The corresponding incident report from police says a man entered through a back bedroom door, took coins and the china set, and left in a black pick-up truck.

Batton said the man was described as a white male, around 5-foot-10 with a fair complexion, medium build and bald head.

Five minutes earlier, police said, a man with a similar description entered a fenced-in yard in the 500 block of Sussex Road — just down the street from the Stevenson Lane location — and looked inside through a kitchen window, only to be spotted by a resident who had just returned home.

The resident asked the man what he was doing, and the man responded that he was looking for landscaping jobs in the area. He then left in a black pick-up truck.

Batton said the two incidents are “possibly connected.”
