Man arrested for Wiltondale burglary confessed to others, police said

A Baltimore man who was arrested last week for a burglary in Wiltondale later confessed to two other burglaries, including a second in Towson, Baltimore County Police said.

On July 2, a woman returned to her Wiltondale home at 12:06 p.m  and saw a man running out of her house in the unit block of Aintree Road. Police found the man at the corner of York Road and Aigburth Road with a bag of jewelry, and the homeowner later identified him as the man fleeing her home, according to police.

Anthony Ray Westmoreland, 49, of the 100 block of Broening Highway in Baltimore, was arrested and charged with burglary, police said.

Westmoreland later confessed to two other burglaries, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said.

Batton said Westmoreland also confessed to a daytime jewelry burglary on June 11 in the 700 block of Overbrook Road in Towson, and an unspecified incident in Baltimore City.

Baltimore City Police have been notified of that confession, Batton said.
