Towson Starbucks robbed at gunpoint

The York Road Starbucks in Towson was robbed at gunpoint Monday morning, the second time in eight days that a Starbucks has been held up in Towson.

Julia Hardgrove, a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman, said police received a report of an armed man entering the store at the corner of York Road and Burke Avenue and stealing money at 5:50 a.m. Monday, though no suspect information was available.

The store did not open until 10 a.m., according to at least one customer.

According to a police report, the Starbucks in the 6300 block of York Road in York Road Plaza was robbed at 9 a.m. on Dec. 29. In that case, police said a man wearing a ski mask entered the store and stole cash.

Police spokeswoman Elise Armacost said Monday evening that an arrest was made in the Dec. 29 incident, and that the two are not related.
