Police identify man arrested in robbery of PNC branch in Towson

UPDATED — Baltimore County police said a man was arrested Aug. 17, in connection with a robbery that occurred this morning at the PNC Bank branch located inside the Giant Food in Towson.

According to Elise Armacost, director of media and communications for the Police Department, the incident occurred Friday, Aug. 17, at about 10:30 a.m.

Armacost said a man entered the supermarket branch in the 6300 block of York Road and passed the branch manager a note demanding money and threatening "bodily harm," she said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.

Police broadcasted a description of the suspect; and shortly thereafter, police arrested Jonathan David Bailey, 27, of no fixed address. The money was recovered, Armacost said.

Bailey was charged with robbery, theft under $1,000 and resisting arrest.

He was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $200,000 bail as of Aug. 20.
