According to Elise Armacost, director of media and communications for the Police Department, the incident occurred Friday, Aug. 17, at about 10:30 a.m.
Armacost said a man entered the supermarket branch in the 6300 block of York Road and passed the branch manager a note demanding money and threatening "bodily harm," she said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene.
Police broadcasted a description of the suspect; and shortly thereafter, police arrested Jonathan David Bailey, 27, of no fixed address. The money was recovered, Armacost said.
Bailey was charged with robbery, theft under $1,000 and resisting arrest.
He was being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $200,000 bail as of Aug. 20.
