So much to like about church's ice cream social [Loch Raven]
Round and round went the crank last Saturday at Hiss United Methodist Church. People gathered in anticipation of the ice cream and of their chance to step in when the current crank turner grew weary. After about 30 minutes of continuous cranking, it was finally time. The smooth creamy homemade vanilla ice cream was scooped into big bowls and savored on the hot night. Toppings included strawberries, hot fudge, butterscotch, cherries, sprinkles and for those who preferred a different flavor there was store-bought ice cream. Some people used the ice cream to make a root beer float!
