The owners of Melt, a new grilled cheese restaurant in Towson, said last week that they plan to open at 22 West Pennsylvania Avenue in mid-July.
“We knew we wanted to open a restaurant, and thought, ‘What sort of concept really best suits us?’ ” owner Josh Gorub said. “I really felt like people understand and recognize when food is made and it’s thoughtfully prepared.”
Gorub said the team at Melt wanted to provide the same quality ingredients and preparation customers could find in a nice restaurant, “but in this economy, we wanted to take that idea and put it in a vessel that’s humble and fairly inexpensive.”
“There’s not many people who don’t like grilled cheese,” Gorub said.
Gorub, a Bel Air native who said he has lived, worked, and gone to school in Towson, said that construction is underway inside the space in the ground floor of the former Sun Trust building.
When the opening date is determined, Gorub said a date would be announced on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cheesyface.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
