Towson mall thief hits store employee with car

A woman stole a T-shirt from the PacSun store in the Towson Town Center mall and later backed her vehicle into a pursuing store employee, Baltimore County Police said.

At 7:55 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, employees at the store saw a woman put a $15 shirt into her purse and leave without paying for the item, police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said Friday.

Store employees followed the woman out of the mall to a white 2000 Volvo sedan, Maryland tag number 4AY7107, police said.

One employee stood behind the car to prevent the woman from leaving, but the woman backed up and hit the employee in the leg with her car, Batton said. The woman then turned forward and nearly hit the employee again.

Batton said the employee sustained non-life threatening injuries and refused medical treatment.

The woman, whom Batton described as a black female in her 20s with brown eyes, a medium complexion, and black hair, was last seen driving toward Fairmount Avenue.
