Baltimore County Police this month charged two men with murder after a 27-year-old Towson resident was killed in November 2012 during a drug deal.

Police have charged Kenneth Johnson, 22 of the 1200 block of Walters Avenue in Baltimore, and Deonte Robinson, 18 of the unit block of Polaris Court in Parkville, for their role in the killing at the Fairways apartment complex in Towson.

Police said that at around 6:55 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, officers and medical personnel responded to an apartment building in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle in Towson after reports of a man with a gunshot wound.

First responders found the victim, Al-Sawab Sawab, 27, leaning against an apartment door with several gunshot wounds, police said.

As the investigation unfolded, police said that Johnson and Robinson went to the apartment to buy marijuana. Johnson did not have enough money and a confrontation ensued, police said.

Robinson pulled a handgun during the argument, and shot Al-Sawad multiple times when he attempted to flee.

Sawab was transported to Sinai Hospital, but died that night of his injuries.

Johnson was arrested on Jan. 15, and is being charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

A warrant was obtained for Robinson, who is being held without bail at the Baltimore City Detention Center, on Jan. 23.

According to online court records, Robinson was charged on Jan. 9 with 13 counts of robbery and gun charges in relation to an armed carjacking.
