A webpage updated by the family of Dr. Theodore Houk of Lutherville has detailed the injuries suffered when the doctor was hit by a car on his run to work last week, and reported "excellent progress" as of Tuesday evening.

A spokesman for Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where Houk is an internal medicine specialist, announced Wednesday that Houk's family is updating his condition at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/tedhouk.

In the most recent update, the family member updating the page reported "excellent progress." In the first of four updates, posted on Saturday, March 30, the writer said Houk suffered multiple leg fractures and bleeding in the brain. He has undergone a pair of surgeries on his leg, and one more is expected, the page said.

Greater Baltimore Medical Center has set up an email account for friends, patients, and well-wishers to send messages to Houk. All emails sent to getwell@gbmc.org will be printed and delivered to Houk and his family, a GBMC spokesman said.

Police said Houk was jogging to work on the morning of Thursday, March 28, when he drifted into the road and was hit by a vehicle at the corner of North Charles Street and Chestnut Avenue. He was flown to Shock Trauma by helicopter, and was most recently listed in serious condition.
