Baltimore County police say fatal shooting in Towson was not random

Baltimore County Police said Tuesday that the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Alsawab Sawab outside his apartment in the 7000 block of Lachlan Circle in Towson on Sunday evening was not a random crime.

In a press release, police also said that there were no signs of forced entry into Sawab’s apartment.

The shooting took place in the Fairways at Towson apartment complex, which houses many Towson University students as well as young families and couples. The press release also noted that Sawab was not a Towson University student.

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday evening, Nov. 25, police responded to a 911 call that a man had been shot outside the caller’s home. When police and fire units arrived, they found Sawab with multiple gunshot wounds.

Sawab was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he died late Sunday night.

The police investigation into the death, which has been ruled a homicide, is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to call 410-307-2020.
