Towson Tonight: Beach Bumz in concert for Feet on the Street

Towson's Feet on the Street Friday night block parties will feature the Maryland-based group, Beach Bumz, on stage on Allegheny Avenue this evening, Friday, May 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. between Washington Avenue and York Road.

Sponsored by the Towson Chamber of Commerce, the Feet on the Street series includes live music, food, children's activities, prizes, beer and wine.

According to the chamber website, there will also be a moon bounce for children, a limbo contest and Hula-Hoops for the young and the young at heart.

On the band's website, Beach Bumz is based in Baltimore, with connections also to Orlando, Fla. The group touts itself as a "beach tribute" band, specializing in music from Jimmy Buffett and the Beach Boys.

For the event, Allegheny Avenue between York Road and Washington Avenue will be closed between 6 and 9:30 p.m.

People may bring lawn chairs, as no seating will be provided. Pets and outside alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

After this week, the schedule for the next several weeks at the Feet on the Street parties is as follows:

June 1 — Mambo Combo

June 8 — Mary Lou and the Untouchables

June 15 — The Rat Pack

June 22 — Tony Berry and New Money
